What I've learnt since moving out

I was having a conversation with my sister earlier today about the odd little things we've both experienced since moving out, I was expecting my main challenges would be loneliness from living away from my mum, financial struggles of having to prioritise money and dealing with bills etc, the usual, basic  I'm an adult now  stuff. Yet me and my sister (who also has a place of her own) were talking about how we always seem to have mouldy milk in our house. I don't know why this fascinated me so much, but I find I have so many milk bottles that go off because I'm not used to having to check the dates on things or having to drink that much by myself per week. And it got me thinking on the other things I wasn't prepared for living on my own. Last night my sink broke and now leaks. The utter horror that came over me because "omg I don't know a plumber!? How do I enquire about a plumber? Is it expensive? How do I go about the whole situation??????? IS THE YELLO...

Bouncing Back

Coming out of an emotional funk is one of the hardest things to do, for me personally. I've been stuck in a downwards spiral of emotions for a few months and coming out of it has been so, so challenging for me and I don't really know why I'm writing this post because it's awfully personal to be putting out on the internet but I'm proud of myself for having a moment today where I thought 'life isn't so bad, I feel happy' and it dawned on me then just how long it had been since I'd felt like that. Of course I've been happy over the last few months, Christmas was happy, New year was, spending times with friends and family was. But I haven't felt happiness in the sense that I could step back and really appreciate my life. Because in all honesty, my life over the past few months have been shit. And the worst part is, nothing tragic has happened to make me go on this downward spiral I've been on, I just got tired of existing. Which breaks m...

Goals For 2019

My start to 2019 has been one kick in the teeth after another. I'm hoping it's just everything slotting into place and everything will soon be smooth running but my god I am tired of fighting losing battles everyday. But it's reminded me to do my 2019 goals post because I'm trying so hard to have a good year this year, get everything back on track with my life and work hard to get where I want to get. My last years resolutions were to keep up with the gym, which I did. I even had a personal training session this year which left me hobbling for over a week, I learnt to lift which I'm still terrified to do but love it. I wanted to be in a bikini by summer which I did! I wasn't where I wanted to be weight wise but I felt good enough to be in a bikini on holiday! I also wanted to take at least one driving lesson, I almost did however decided against it. Driving just isn't for me right now and that's okay. I felt the pressure of having to drive because I...

2018 - What a Year

Image
It's finally come round to my favourite posts to write! The end of year ones, yes it may technically be a week overdue but I've been with family and only just picked my laptop up today from my student house, whoops. 2018 has been the weirdest year of my life and I so badly wish I could have said it was my favourite year because it's been so big and successful and so much good came from it. But so much bad did too, and the bad ruled way too many of the months in 2018. However looking back, and through the photos I'm about to attach to this post, it really was a great year for me, even the huge wallop of stress I've had towards the end has been such a good learning curve and a base for me to grow so much more in 2019. I'm feeling so positive about this new year. Here are my photos and things I got up to in 2018. The year started with a whole night of partying, getting home at 6:30 in the morning after what was supposed to just be a few drinks down the...

Five Happy Things

I've just finished my last exam for the term, now sat down with a loose leaf tea (my favourite), and reading through some blogs when I came across a post from my all time favourite blogger Little Winter , she wrote a post called five happy things and it was something I really needed to read today. So I'm borrowing her idea and using it in a post of my own. Five happy things is just a simple 5 moments/things/people that I have appreciated lately, just to make me appreciate the little things a bit more. 1. Loved ones My friends and family have been my absolute rock these past few weeks, they've been there for me in more ways than I could possibly hope for. My friend has been stern with me in a loving way to motivate me to finish uni, to go to the gym, and to keep away from naughty foods. My mum has been a place to go to, a sanctuary away from the stress, my sister the best distraction, and my boyfriend has been the best shoulder to cry on and go to person to let loose ...

...Here's What's Going On Right Now

I'm trying to hard to sort my life out right now, I've got caught behind on so much and stopped looking after myself, so I'm having a random spur of quick-get-everything-done. Which actually, essentially is just, do some washing, tidy my room and get up early tomorrow and to the gym and then uni. Why these feel like impossible tasks right now I don't know. While I've been dashing around my room sorting washing etc I realised I was mentally writing out a blog post in my head and couldn't physically do anything more until I sat down to write one. I've been contemplating for a while about coming back onto my blog, I've written a few posts which were never finished because I physically couldn't finish them. All I want to do is update the blog on the crazy new current situation that is my life but because my heads been so "bleh-way" (the only spelling I can somewhat sum up what the noise in my head is shouting) I've never found how to end...

My Goals For 2018

Reading back on the post I wrote this time last year I can confidently say I've accomplished nearly all of them. So I'll quickly review each one and talk about my new ones. 1, I wanted to get healthy, that I accomplished so well, as mentioned in my previous post, I said I wanted to eat more nutritiously which I did, drink more water, which I did, and get fitter, which I definitely did. 2, get more organised, I needed more structure to my life where everything was late, lat minute and unplanned. Now I have no choice but to be organised, with balancing college, work, gym, dancing, social life and homework I'm having to make sure I know where I need to be, who I'm seeing, how much sleep I need to prepare for the next day, if that's a 5am start or a long night out. 3, Drive. This is the only one I didn't even start, and that's because I didn't have the money to do it with no working most of the year. I'm also really really scared to drive and I'm ...
