Ibiza diaries: Our anniversary

I've missed my blog so much! And proper cups of tea! I'm so sad to have left Ibiza but also so happy to have my British comforts back. I'm on my second holiday right now and although I'm having the best time away from my very hated home town, I'm missing normality so terribly.
I (obviously) went completely overboard with the photos I took in Ibiza, so I'm having to break up my Ibiza post practically day by day.

This was day one...

We set off for Ibiza on October 5th, which was our official one year anniversary day. We had an early morning flight and landed in Ibiza at roughly 10am, which meant we practically had the whole day left. We'd planned to eat out a lot at local bars and restaurants so opted for self catering which meant we spent a lot more money but we enjoyed it so much.
We stayed on the opposite side of the 'party' part of the island, where it was more cultural. Ibiza's main culture is hippie and it was insanely beautiful and exactly my kind of thing. We stayed in Es Cana(r) which is a little bay filled with restaurants, shops and bars and surrounded by hotels. It was beautiful, intimate and friendly. If you followed the beach up it would take you to Cala Nova which is an even more beautiful beach with a little nudist section. Boy did we see some sights.

This was the view from our hotel room, the sea was actually a lot closer than it seems.

I am ridiculously ashamed at the size of my thighs but body positivity and all that.
This was taken after we had spent a few hours on the beach. The first thing we did was get our swim stuff on and jump straight into the sea. My curly sea hair is my favourite thing in the world.

We walked around a few of the local shops, my favourite was this little hippie one that smelt so strongly of incense.
We somewhat dressed up for dinner and drinks, couldn't take a serious photo, and headed out to properly celebrate our anniversary.
But not before we took some quick candid photos in the low set sunlight.

Just to the right of me was one of our favourite bars, which has this amazing view of the sea.
We went out for dinner in this gorgeous outside restaurant called Solimar, which gave us on the house fresh olives and bread with aioli (which is my new favourite thing!!), then we had spring rolls to start, pad thai, a litre of champagne sangria, and when asking for the bill the chef came out and gave us a complimentary tequila shot each. It was really nice there I wish we had time to visit again before we left. (I decided not to be vegan while in Ibiza because I knew it would be hard and I just wanted to enjoy the holiday without having to stress about food)

We went back to the bar that overlooked the sea for some pornstar martinis, to commemorate one of our first meetings. I nipped into his bar with my sister when we'd only just started getting to know each other and spent the whole night ordering pornstar martinis in a weak attempt at flirting, because they seemed more erotic than a cosmo. He also made those drinks with 15ml of extra vodka in, which was his weak attempt at flirting. Lord knows how we ended up here.

After some large glasses of whiskey we made our very drunk way back to the hotel room and thus the end of our day one in Ibiza. It was the best and cutest way to spend our anniversary and my favourite day of the holiday too.

  1. Aww congratulations! This post is so cute!! And you took some seriously stunning pictures. I get what you mean about not wanting to worry/stress about food when on holiday. I'm a vegetarian and I sometimes am exhausted after a week of holidaying due to trying to find places to eat, and that's not even talking about the guilt I feel in limiting my family's choice of restaurant.

    Again, congrats! Happy holiday!

    1. Thank you! That's so sweet. It's nice to know I'm not alone when it comes to struggling with eating away from home, I'm the only vegan within my friends and family as well which makes it harder.
      Thank you :)
