Bradgate In The Winter

This past Saturday was one of those days where you just needed to get out of the house for a bit and do something, so we spent the day wrapped up in wintery clothes trekking up Bradgate park. Bradgate park is a huge thing over here, everyone goes in the winter, everyone goes in the summer. It's just a park with lots of fields and climbing rocks and rivers and then two castles which are its' main features. Deer roam freely around the park as well as rabbits but they're only seen in the summer. The park is beautiful in the summer, there's ice cream stands and all the kids play in the rives (knee deep at most) and make rock pools and catch fish. There's ducks to feed, places to sunbathe, and bracken fields grow everywhere which can be really tall and we all climb through it like a maze -but inside the bracken are grass snakes so we have to be careful not to be bitten, I love it there at summertime and some of my fondest childhood memories originate from here.
The park is a different place at wintertime however still beautiful, and when it snows heavy everyone goes sledging down the hill at Old John, which is the big mountain/hill just before the main castle. I took a loooot of photos at this place, so this post is about to turn into a gallery...

*This is Old John hill, imagine sledging down this in the snow..*
