Currently Listening To...

Some day last week I started writing out a post, and I was quite proud of the way I had written it, but I can't post it anymore because it has to be posted before December. And as December is tomorrow and today's post is Currently Listening To day, I had to delete it. The post was an announcement type thing that I'll still include in this post it just won't be as thrillingly written out as my previous attempt (and the reason it never got posted last week is because I got distracted and busy and it was quite possibly one of the fastest weeks of my life, I don't what I spent my time doing..)

Okay, this week I actually have new music to talk about, most of it is from a particular band I've not stopped listening to, but I haven't particularly listened to their songs enough to write a great deal about them and what they stand for, but I can't not say something about these songs because this band stands for a lot -from what I've taken so far from their music. So I'm going to write a little paragraph here about what I feel about their songs then label the songs I've most been listening to by them. Much like I would in the older Currently Listening To posts.
So the band is Twenty One Pilots. I've written about two of their songs before on here, saying I weren't sure whether I liked them or not, they were just stuck in my head all the time so I listened to them. After further evaluation I decided Twenty One Pilots wasn't for me, they weren't my kind of music, I just couldn't connect with the songs like e-ver-ry-body else in the world seems to be doing at the moment.
But, as my lack of interesting Currently Listening To's recently, you can tell I'm in a little bit of a music rut, so when YouTube was throwing TOP songs at me left, right, and centre I thought heck, let's give 'em another listen. So I listened to a few songs, was unsure on every one, until it hit the bridge and I realised I loved it, found one song I loved to pieces and just kind of didn't listen to anyone else for the next few days.
I love them because (and this is only my opinion) it seems like their music is a facade, it's essentially pop/rap rubbish you hear on the radio but that's only the surface, because their songs mean something and they tell stories, you can't say they're pop because they're not, they merge almost every type of genre together, you're listening to a song with a pop melody, rapped words, and a dance beat breakdown, but really the song isn't about a 'sick beat' and a car radio but how you can be scared of your own mind because it goes to extremely dark places, and there's so much emotion conveyed into the song that the singer, Tyler literally screams into the microphone, which is an element only really used in 'death metal' music, and yet TOP are adding it into their genre mash up music and giving 'screaming' so much more power and emotion than it's ever had.
To my previous and main point, it's like a facade because it's music the industry sees and likes, it's stuff that will hit the charts, and it did hit the charts but they're not about whether they can hit the charts or not, they're about creating music, and using music to speak about real things, so they got into the charts on their pop influences, but they infiltrated the charts with the other side of them which is deep, meaningful and real. They literally put 'scream' into the charts! I love that. I love what they're doing, and I love how they do it.
This was only supposed to be a small paragraph, but now you can understand why I couldn't write about each song, because that^ needed to be said. My favourite songs so far by them however, is:

Guns For Hands - Twenty One Pilots, this is my absolute favourite.

Car Radio - Twenty One Pilots

Holding On To You - Twenty One Pilots

Migraine - Twenty One Pilots

Ride - Twenty One Pilots

The Judge - Twenty One Pilots

Polarize - Twenty One Pilots, this felt like a Mumford and Sons song at first.

LA Devotee - Panic! At The Disco, not Twenty One Pilots, this is the new song off of Panic's new album and I think this may be favourite so far.. I love the melody of it, I love the tone of Brendon's voice.. it's so deep during the verses and his usual pitch at the chorus but the tone of his voice is different, his voice has a different sound to it that I really like. I'm in absolute love with the first three lines "You got two black eyes from loving too hard And a black car that matches your blackest soul I wouldn't change ya" which to me describes a perfect relationship, it's like he's describing a girl who keeps him on his toes, is a bit crazy, brings out the best in him, which is why he couldn't ever leave her, but she's not exactly a handful because she has two black eyes from loving too hard which suggests that while she may be a bit wild with her black soul, she also cares deeply, I also think it hints that he also has a wild side and she has to rein him in constantly because he gets too carried with things and her taking care of their love tires her (black eyes) but also "black eyes" is a really powerful way of describing how hard someone can love, like a really good metaphor. I love it, just three lines can describe a really good relationship when the lyrics are actually talking about black eyes and a dark soul..
Maybe it's not a good relationship, but that's what I picked up from the song.

That's the songs I've been listening to, this felt like a very in depth, psychology-behind-music kind of post, I so badly should have taken psychology A Levels...
The announcement I have, is, that tomorrow is December starts tomorrow (oh how that makes a lot of sense), and I've seen blogs hint at 'Blogmas' and I'd never heard of it somehow -I don't know why. I've looked into it but I don't know what everyone does during Blogmas, so I've just taken it upon myself to post every single day about Christmas -which I'm pretty sure is what you're supposed to do. So today is my last normal post. I don't think I'll do anymore Currently Listening To's because mostly in December I listen to just Christmas songs, and I'l be doing a few Christmas song posts. I'm going to post up to, and including Boxing day where on that day I'll reveal what I go for Christmas, whether I post on actual Christmas day or not I don't know yet. And also I turn 18 on the fifth so the sixth day of Blogmas might be a run down of my birthday and not Christmas related.
Aside from that every post from now should be about Christmas, I've yet to plan them out, December is going to be very busy, especially when I have to watch two Zoella videos everyday, on top of many more Vlogmas'  but I like a good challenge. And there's no chance of 'writers block' because I have so many ideas! I just need to thoroughly plan all my posts, which I should have done earlier on in the week but haven't had time to -OH MY GOD I'VE JUST REALISED IT'S THE FIRST TOMORROW AND I DON'T HAVE AN ADVENT CALANDAR. Goodness gracious that needs to be sorted.
